I was fortunate enough this month to be involved in helping a good friend put together a secret scout-themed party for her husband’s 30th birthday. As they met whilst in the scouts as teenagers and have been lifelong lovers of the outdoors, she thought it would be the perfect fun theme to run throughout the weekend of celebrations – from cake to accommodation.
Smart phone apps like A Beautiful Mess and Instagram are a fabulous way of capturing parties and events from the guests perspectives, and I have included some here – why not set up your own hashtag so all your guests can follow the festivities on Twitter, Instagram, and now even Facebook?!

Olga _ Sende got married at the San Bonifacio Wine Resort last September. One year on, they decided to come back to Italy to celebrate their first anniversary with their family and friends. Olga was looking for a very special venue, full of charme and to be completely honest it was not easy to organise something that could match the beauty of her wedding day. We recommended the Locanda Rosa Rosae, which is an old mill near Treviso, the Prosecco region, completely renovated by its owners. The place has lots of character and is full of personality and amazing details. They loved it!
My (no longer) baby boy celebrated his 1st Birthday last week and as a very proud Mama I thought it might be nice to share a few photo’s from the day. Dylan’s birthday actually fell on a Monday – which worked out very well as that’s the very day he attends playgroup…so instead of hosting a party at home (I’m thinking I can get away with this for a couple more years, right?!) I cheekily took a cake along and he got to spend a couple of hours with his little pals before we took him home for a very small soiree that simply included my husband, myself and two of his Grandparents…
